Silicon Steel Distortion is a unique design transformer-coupled multi-gain stage distortion pedal for guitarists, designed to add a responsive amp feel progressive drive for rocking chords and searing distortion at higher gain settings. The drive control goes up from overdrive territory through to in-your-face distortion and even fuzz tones with increasing drive.
A custom designed 2-band boost/cut EQ offers a deceptively versatile and effective way to dial in treble boost, mid focus, bass lift and scooped tones - makes it easy and intuitive to dial in your sounds.
Transformer-Coupled Multi-Gain Stage
A transformer gain stage is driven by 2 cascaded gain / harmonic clipping stages feeding into an audio transformer - providing colour and dynamic character. The transformer output feeds a final harmonic clipping stage. The distortion can be pushed into extremely aggressive high gain and to perform powerfully with chord work at moderate drive settings.
Powerful 2-Band EQ
onboard 2-band Boost / Cut EQ has been custom tuned specifically for the distortion pedal to give a wide tone pallet of aggressive character tones.
Unique Design
Each pedal in the SIlicon Steel family is unique. The input stage, harmonic distortion clipping circuits, even the transformer configuration itself and EQ behaviour are unique to each design, refined to deliver a bespoke signature tone. The key common factor is an aufdio transformer at the heart of each Silicon Steel Pedal providing dynamic feel and response.
