Boost Pedal
Silicon Steel Boost is a unique design transformer gain stage boost pedal for guitarists, designed to add tonal colour and dynamics to drive pedals, amp input stages and even amp similations. The Heat control progressively adds a touch of low order harmonics to the predominately clean transformer character boost tones. The custom designed 2-band EQ offers a quick and effective way to dial in treble boost, mid focus, bass lift and scooped tones.
Transformer Gain Stage
Silicon Steel uses a transformer-based gain stage which provides a characterful core tone and dynamics, further enhanced with the 'Heat' control which introduces low order harmonics with subtle asymmetric clipping in a novel way - wrapped around the transformer circuit - a configuration designed specifically for this original boost pedal.
Powerful 2-Band EQ
The onboard 2-band EQ is deceptively simple yet surprisingly flexible - in addition to flat EQ you can also dial in treble boost, scooped, mid-focus or bass lift tones - with an easy to use dual knob EQ setup.
Low noise, high gain Range
The low noise design provides gain all the way up to +21dB - more than sufficient to drive just about any amp input stage or gain pedal. The pedal can be powered with up to 18v DC supply if you need even more headroom - for most guitar level signals +9v is plenty.
